Flashback The Quest for Identity – Sega Genesis Game

Flashback: The Quest for Identity is a cinematic platformer for the Sega Genesis. You control Conrad B. Hart, who wakes in the jungle of Titan with no memory and a holocube recording from his past self telling him where to go next. Animation is rotoscoped and movement is weighty: running, jumping, crouching, hanging from ledges and drawing your pistol all play out through full animations, so success depends on careful timing and positioning rather than fast twitch reactions. Each level is a maze of screens containing guards, creatures, force fields, teleport pads, switches and hazards, and you frequently need to find and use items or trigger mechanisms in the right order to open the way forward. Cutscenes between stages carry the science-fiction story as Conrad travels from Titan and works to recover his identity.
