Forgotten Worlds – Sega Genesis Game

Forgotten Worlds is a side-scrolling shooter originally from the arcades, converted here for the Sega Genesis. You play as an armoured soldier who hovers through the air, flying freely around the screen while the stages scroll horizontally past ruined cities and alien landscapes. The distinguishing mechanic is aiming: your character’s gun rotates independently of movement, so you can spin your fire in a full circle to cover enemies coming from any direction. Defeated enemies drop money known as zenny, which you spend in shops that appear between and during stages on new weapons, armour and health refills. Each stage ends with a large boss encounter that fills much of the screen and requires you to learn attack patterns while keeping your fire trained on weak points.
