Fur Fighters – Sega Dreamcast Game

Fur Fighters is a third-person shooter starring a team of cartoon animals whose families have been taken by the villain Viggo. You switch between playable characters, each with an ability suited to particular obstacles, and the levels are built as large hub worlds you revisit as new characters unlock new routes. Progress involves rescuing baby animals hidden throughout the environments, which encourages exploring corners rather than running straight to the exit. Combat uses a range of weapons against Viggo’s mutated forces, with plenty of platforming, switch puzzles and backtracking between objectives. The tone is comic and colourful despite the shooting, with talkative characters and cutscenes between areas. The Dreamcast version is controlled with the standard pad and analogue stick, and supports multiplayer deathmatch alongside the single-player campaign.
