Generations Lost – Sega Genesis Game

Generations Lost is a side-scrolling action platformer for the Sega Genesis set in a science fiction world. You control a lone protagonist making his way through hostile environments, fighting creatures and machines with a melee weapon while jumping, climbing and finding routes through each area. Progress mixes combat with exploration, as stages hide alternate paths and obstacles that need the right approach rather than pure speed. Animation is a focal point, with fluid, weighty character movement that gives attacks and landings a deliberate feel compared with faster platformers on the system. Enemies punish careless approaches, so spacing and timing matter in fights. The presentation leans dark and moody, with muted colour palettes and a story of a ruined world unfolding as you push further into the game.
