Gex 3

Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko is a 3D platformer for the Nintendo 64 starring the television-obsessed gecko. Each world parodies a TV genre, with settings such as horror, spy thrillers, westerns and cartoons, and you explore them looking for remote controls awarded for completing objectives and finding hidden areas. Gex jumps, tail-whips enemies, climbs surfaces and uses costumes and gadgets that fit the theme of the stage he is in. Collecting enough remotes unlocks further channels and boss encounters. Movement is built around exploration and objective hunting rather than linear stage runs, so levels are revisited to clear tasks you missed. Gex keeps up a running commentary of jokes and pop culture references throughout, and the game leans heavily on its television parody in both level design and presentation.
