Gladius – Gamecube Game

Gladius is a turn-based tactical role-playing game set in a fantasy world built around gladiatorial combat. You run a gladiator school, recruiting fighters of different classes and races, training them, and entering them in tournaments across several regions. Battles play out on grid-based arenas where positioning, facing and terrain matter, and attacks are resolved with a timing-based swing meter that you stop in a marked zone to determine accuracy and damage. Fighters gain experience, skills and equipment as they advance, and you manage your roster between matches, deciding who fights and who rests. The story follows two protagonists whose paths cross as they climb the tournament ladder, and league events range from straight duels to objective-based arena contests.
