Gladius – PS2 Game

Gladius is a turn-based tactical role-playing game about running a school of gladiators. You recruit fighters from a range of classes and races, train them, equip them and enter them in tournaments across different regions of a fantasy world. Combat takes place on grid arenas where positioning, facing and terrain affect the outcome, and each attack uses a timing-based swing meter that you stop in the marked zone to set accuracy and damage. Fighters earn experience, learn skills and can be swapped in and out of your active team, so managing the roster between bouts is as important as the fights themselves. The campaign follows two protagonists working their way up through leagues that include duels and objective-based arena events.
