God of War – PS2 Game

God of War is a third-person action game for PlayStation 2 set in a version of ancient Greece drawn from myth. You play as Kratos, a Spartan warrior in the service of the gods, wielding the Blades of Chaos, chained blades swung on the ends of long chains, in combos against soldiers, undead, mythological beasts and larger bosses. Combat mixes light and heavy attacks with blocking, grabs and magical abilities granted by the gods, and finishing moves on weakened enemies are triggered through on-screen button prompts. Between fights you solve environmental puzzles, climb, swim and navigate hazards. Defeated enemies and hidden chests yield red orbs used to upgrade weapons and magic. The story unfolds through cutscenes and narration, moving through temples, cities and other locations from Greek legend.
