Guilty Gear – PS1 Game

Guilty Gear is a one-on-one 2D fighting game for the PlayStation 1, developed by Arc System Works. Characters are hand-drawn sprites fought on side-view stages, with a rock-driven soundtrack and a heavy-metal-flavoured cast that includes Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske. The fighting system uses a five-button layout covering punch, kick, slash, heavy slash and dust, along with air dashes, guard cancels and special moves performed with motion inputs. Its signature mechanic is the Instant Kill, a move that ends a round outright if it connects, entered from a separate stance. Single-player play takes you through a run of opponents toward a final boss, and two players can fight each other locally. Later entries in the series built directly on the systems introduced here.
