Guilty Gear X – PS2 Game

Guilty Gear X is a 2D fighting game for the PlayStation 2 from Arc System Works, following on from the original Guilty Gear. The hand-drawn sprite work is considerably more detailed here, set against layered backgrounds and backed by a rock soundtrack. Fighting uses the series’ punch, kick, slash, heavy slash and dust buttons, with air dashes, high-speed movement, Faultless Defense and a Tension gauge that fuels Overdrive attacks and Roman Cancels, which let you cut a move short mid-animation to keep pressure going. Instant Kill moves remain available. The cast mixes returning fighters such as Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske with newcomers. Modes cover arcade-style single-player runs, versus play for two people, survival and training.
