Guitar Hero II – PS2 Game

Guitar Hero II is a rhythm game played with a guitar-shaped controller. Colored notes scroll down an on-screen fretboard and you hold the corresponding fret button while hitting the strum bar in time, with hammer-ons and pull-offs allowing some notes to be played without strumming. Star Power, earned by hitting marked phrases, multiplies your score when activated. Career mode advances through sets at larger venues, unlocking songs, characters, and guitars, across difficulty levels that add frets and denser charts. Cooperative play splits a song into lead and bass or rhythm guitar parts for two players, and a competitive mode has players trading sections. A practice mode lets you isolate passages and slow them down. The setlist covers rock and metal from several decades, with a mix of original recordings and covers.
