Hakuoki

Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom is a visual novel for the PlayStation Portable set in Japan during the final years of the Tokugawa shogunate. You play as Chizuru Yukimura, a young woman who travels to Kyoto disguised as a man to search for her missing father and becomes entangled with the Shinsengumi. The story mixes historical events and figures with supernatural elements, and unfolds largely through text, character portraits and voiced Japanese dialogue with English text. Choices made during conversations and events determine which characters Chizuru grows close to and which of the multiple story routes and endings you reach, encouraging repeat playthroughs. Presentation includes illustrated event scenes and a period setting of political conflict, swordsmanship and shifting loyalties.
