Haunted Mansion – Gamecube Game

This GameCube action game is based on Disney’s Haunted Mansion. You explore the mansion’s rooms, corridors and grounds from a pulled-back camera view, using a lantern-like weapon to trap and banish the ghosts that appear in each area. Combat involves keeping spirits in your light long enough to dispel them while backing away from those closing in, and stronger enemies require positioning and timing rather than simple button mashing. Between fights you solve light environmental puzzles, find keys and mechanisms, and unlock new sections of the house. Areas draw on the imagery of the theme park attraction, including portrait galleries, graveyards and stretching rooms, with an organ-heavy score and narration to match. Progress is level-based, with each section ending once its haunting is cleared and a route onward opens.
