Haunted Mansion – PS2 Game

The PlayStation 2 version of Disney’s Haunted Mansion is an action game set inside the mansion from the theme park attraction. Viewed from an overhead-style camera, you guide your character through parlours, hallways, cellars and the grounds outside, using a lantern that emits light to catch and banish the ghosts drifting through each room. Fights are about keeping spirits inside your beam while avoiding those that press in from other directions, and some enemies demand specific tactics or a cleared path first. Between encounters you look for keys, switches and mechanisms that open the next part of the house, with simple puzzles built into the environments. Locations and characters take their cues from the ride, backed by a suitably gothic soundtrack. Play is structured in sections, each closed off once its haunting has been dealt with.
