Heavy Fire

An on-rails military shooter for the Wii. The game moves you automatically through scripted combat scenes while you aim with the Wii Remote and fire at enemies as they appear from cover, windows and vehicles. Rather than free movement, each stage plays as a shooting gallery: you handle targeting, reloading and taking cover behind on-screen obstacles, and you sometimes man mounted weapons or fire from vehicles and aircraft. Objectives centre on clearing enemies, protecting allies and surviving set-piece encounters, with scoring and rank tallies at the end of levels. The straightforward control scheme suits a light gun-style approach, and it supports playing with a compatible gun shell or the standard remote. Cooperative play lets a second player join in on the same screen.
