Herc’s Adventures – PS1 Game

Herc’s Adventures is an action-adventure game set in a cartoon version of ancient Greece. You choose one of three heroes, Hercules, Atlanta or Jason, each with different strengths in speed, power and stamina, then explore an overhead world of Greek city-states, deserts, islands and the underworld. Play mixes combat against mythological creatures with item collecting, simple puzzles and errands for the people you meet, and you can pick up and throw many objects, including enemies. Weapons and food are gathered along the way, and death sends you to Hades rather than ending the run outright. Two players can play cooperatively. The tone is comedic throughout, with exaggerated character designs and irreverent takes on gods and monsters, and the presentation uses colorful hand-drawn sprite art.
