Hercules – PS1 Game

Disney’s Hercules for PlayStation is a side-scrolling action platformer based on the animated film. You play as Hercules, running and jumping through stages while fighting monsters with sword swings and punches, breaking objects for pickups and facing bosses drawn from the movie, including mythological beasts. Levels use pre-rendered backdrops and sprite characters with limited depth of movement, giving a layered look while keeping the gameplay two-dimensional. Progress follows the story of Hercules training and proving himself a hero, with cutscene stills and music tied to the film. Collectibles hidden in stages reward exploration, and some sections change pace with chases or timed sequences. Difficulty and level length are pitched at a broad audience, making it a fairly traditional licensed platformer from the PlayStation’s early library.
