International Superstar Soccer 98 – Nintendo 64 Game

International Superstar Soccer 98 is an entry in Konami’s ISS football series for the Nintendo 64. You select a national side and compete in exhibition matches, cup and league competitions, adjusting formation and tactics from the pre-match menus. Matches are played from a raised camera that follows the ball, with controls for short and long passing, crosses, sliding tackles, shooting and dead-ball situations. Commentary accompanies the action, and weather and match length can be configured. The game keeps to the series’ balance of arcade responsiveness and recognisable football structure, so players can score from a quick counter or work the ball patiently through midfield. Support for additional controllers allows head-to-head and co-operative play with other people in the same room.
