Iron Man X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal – Sega Saturn Game

Iron Man / X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal is a side-scrolling action game bringing together Marvel’s Iron Man and Valiant’s X-O Manowar. Both armored characters are playable, and you can swap between them during play, drawing on their separate attacks and abilities as situations demand. Levels are fought through on foot and in flight, with repulsor-style ranged fire and close-quarters strikes used against ordinary soldiers, robotic enemies and larger bosses at the ends of stages. The Sega Saturn release presents the action with digitized character sprites and comic-styled cutscene panels between missions that carry the story of the two heroes teaming up. Play is straightforward run-and-gun combat with a two-hero hook, and the version on Saturn is one of several platform releases of the same game.
