Joe Montana Football – Sega Genesis Game

An early American football game for the Sega Genesis carrying quarterback Joe Montana’s name. You pick plays from a playbook on each snap, then take direct control on the field, passing, running and tackling as the action scrolls across the gridiron. On offense you choose targets and time your throws; on defense you take control of a defender to break up plays and bring down the ball carrier. Games can be played against the computer or with a second player using a second controller. Presentation is straightforward, with a scoreboard, game clock and down-and-distance information framing each drive. The pace is arcade-leaning rather than deeply simulation-focused, making it easy to jump into a quick game.
