John Madden Football ’93 [Championship Edition] – Sega Genesis Game

A Sega Genesis release of John Madden Football ’93 offering a Championship Edition version of the game. As in the rest of the series, you select plays from a playbook, then take direct control of your players on a scrolling field, timing passes, finding running lanes and making tackles. Downs, yardage, the score and the clock are displayed on screen, with instant replay available to review plays. You can play a single exhibition game or work through playoff-style competition, either against the computer or head-to-head with a second controller. The gameplay balances arcade-style direct control with playbook strategy, so formation and play choice affect how each drive develops.
