Kartia Word of Fate – PS1 Game

Kartia: The Word of Fate is a turn-based tactical role-playing game for the PlayStation. You choose between two intertwined storylines, following either the swordsman Toxa or the young woman Lacshu, with each campaign covering the same events from a different perspective. Battles play out on grid-based maps where you position your party, manage terrain and line of sight, and take turns attacking. The central mechanic is Kartia, magical text cards that you combine to create weapons, armour, spells and phantom creatures that fight alongside you, so building your inventory between fights is as important as the combat itself. Story sequences are delivered through dialogue between missions, and the two paths reveal different pieces of the plot as you progress.
