King of Fighters XI – PS2 Game

King of Fighters XI is a 2D fighting game built around three-character teams with active tagging. Rather than waiting for a knockout, you can switch fighters mid-match using a shift mechanic, letting you cancel out of moves and continue pressure with an incoming teammate. One team member is designated the leader and gains access to a stronger super, adding a layer of planning to team order. The system also includes a dodge roll, guard cancels and multiple levels of super moves fuelled by stocked meter. Hand-drawn sprites and backgrounds carry over the series’ presentation, and the roster brings together fighters from across KOF along with characters from other SNK properties. Modes include arcade play, two-player versus, team editing, practice and time attack.
