Legend of Heroes A Tear of Vermillion – PSP Game

A turn-based role-playing game and part of Falcom’s Legend of Heroes series, brought to PSP. You follow Avin, a young man searching for his sister after the two are separated, travelling across a continent and gathering companions along the way. The presentation uses colourful sprite-based characters on detailed backgrounds, with towns to explore, shops for equipment and supplies, and dungeons connecting the regions of the world map. Combat is menu-driven, with physical attacks, magic and items chosen from a list each turn, and characters strengthened through levelling and gear. The pacing leans on conversation and story scenes between chapters, and the tone is fairly gentle for the genre. The game is playable in short sessions, suiting the handheld format.
