Legend of Spyro A New Beginning – Gamecube Game

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning is an action platformer for the Nintendo GameCube that restarts the Spyro series with a darker tone and a heavier focus on combat. You play as a young purple dragon raised among dragonflies who learns about his origins and sets out to find the dragon elders. Levels mix melee attacks, grabs and elemental breath powers, with fire, ice, electricity and earth abilities that can be upgraded as you collect gems. Sparx the dragonfly follows you and serves as your health indicator, and you can send him to gather items. Gliding, wall climbing and short flight sections break up the fighting, and boss encounters cap off several areas. Cutscenes carry the story between stages, which are more linear than the exploration-driven earlier Spyro games.
