Legendary Wings – NES Game

Legendary Wings is a Capcom shooting game, brought to the NES from the arcade, in which you control a winged warrior flying over ancient ruins, temples and mechanical fortresses. Most stages scroll vertically as you shoot waves of enemies and fire downward bombs at ground targets, collecting power-ups that upgrade your shot. Some sections shift the action indoors, putting your character on foot in side-scrolling corridors where you run, jump and fight through enemies before returning to the skies. Stages close with boss encounters against large figures and machines. Two players can take part simultaneously, each with their own flier, which changes how you divide up the screen and cover each other. The mix of mythological imagery and hardware gives the game its distinctive look.
