Lord of the Rings

Aragorn’s Quest is an action-adventure game framed as Samwise Gamgee telling stories to hobbit children years after the War of the Ring. Most play takes place in those retellings, where you control Aragorn through stages based on moments from his story, fighting orcs and other enemies with sword, bow and shield in third-person combat. You block, counter and chain attacks, ride a horse in some sequences, and spend rewards on upgrades to health, weapons and abilities. Between chapters you explore Hobbiton as a young hobbit, talking to residents and taking on small side tasks. The PlayStation 2 version supports a second player joining as Gandalf for cooperative play. Boss fights against larger creatures punctuate the campaign, and the tone stays lighter than the films’ darker scenes.
