Lord of the Sword – Sega Master System Game

A side-scrolling action game for the Master System in which you travel across a kingdom’s countryside, fighting monsters with a sword at close range and a bow at a distance. Levels scroll horizontally and often branch, with paths leading through forests, mountains and caves, and you can enter towns to speak with villagers who offer hints about where to go next. Enemies drop items as you clear them out, and boss encounters cap off sections of the journey. Movement and combat are simple, with jumping and crouching used to line up shots and avoid attacks. The mix of straightforward action stages and light adventure elements gives the game a slower, more exploratory feel than a pure platformer.
