Madden 2001 – PS1 Game

An entry in EA Sports’ NFL football series for the original PlayStation. You select from NFL teams and play exhibition games, seasons, playoffs or franchise play, calling offensive and defensive plays from team playbooks before each snap and then controlling your players on the field. The game covers passing, rushing, kicking, penalties, injuries and substitutions, with audibles and hot routes available at the line. Off the field you can manage rosters, handle trades and draft players as you take a team through multiple seasons. Presentation includes television-style camera angles, crowd noise and commentary between plays. Practice modes and adjustable difficulty and quarter lengths are available, and multiplayer lets a second player take the opposing team on the same console.
