Madden NFL 2004 brings EA Sports’ American football series to Game Boy Advance in a scaled-down handheld form. You pick an NFL team and play out exhibition games or a full season, calling plays from a playbook on offense and defense before taking direct control of your players on the field. The presentation is built around the handheld’s smaller screen, with simplified visuals and a top-down-leaning camera view rather than the broadcast-style angles of the console versions. Passing, running, kicking and defensive play all follow the standard Madden control ideas, with a play-call screen preceding each snap. Season play tracks your record and statistics as you work toward the playoffs. It is designed for shorter sessions, making it a portable companion to the console entries in the series.
