Madden NFL 11 – PS2 Game

Madden NFL 11 for the PlayStation 2 is a late-generation entry in EA’s American football series for Sony’s original console. You select an NFL team, call plays from offensive and defensive playbooks, and take control of players on the field for passing, rushing, tackling and kicking. Modes cover exhibition games, season and franchise play, with adjustable difficulty, quarter length and penalty settings to change how simulation-focused a match is, plus local multiplayer for head-to-head games. Presentation follows the series template of scoreboard and stat overlays, play-art diagrams and commentary between downs. As a PS2 release from a year when the series’ main development had moved to newer hardware, the visuals and feature set are more modest than the contemporaneous HD console versions, but the play-calling and on-field fundamentals are the same.
