Madden NFL ’95 – Sega Genesis Game

Madden NFL ’95 is a Sega Genesis entry in EA’s American football series. Play is viewed from a side-scrolling perspective with sprite-based players: you call a play from a menu of formations, then take control of the ball carrier, quarterback or a defender once the snap happens. You can play a single exhibition game, work through a season toward the playoffs, or take on a second player with a controller in the other port. Settings for quarter length, difficulty and penalties change how strict and how long a match runs. The interface leans on play diagrams and a scoreboard-style stat display rather than elaborate cutscenes, so most of your time is spent choosing plays and executing them. Learning which routes and defensive sets work against the computer is a large part of the game.
