Mafia – PS2 Game

Mafia is an open-world action game set in the American city of Lost Heaven during the Prohibition era. You play as Tommy Angelo, a cab driver who falls in with an organized crime family and rises through its ranks. The game is built around discrete story missions rather than free-form chaos: you drive period automobiles across the city, then move into third-person shooting and cover-based gunfights using weapons of the era, including revolvers, shotguns and the Thompson submachine gun. Driving plays a large part, with slow-accelerating cars, and the game features police who react to speeding and other infractions. The story is told through cutscenes and framed as Tommy recounting his years with the mob, covering hits, heists and betrayals.
