Mario Party 8 – Wii Game

Mario Party 8 brings the board game and minigame formula to the Wii, using the Wii Remote for motion and pointer controls. Up to four players take turns rolling dice and moving around themed boards, collecting coins and competing for stars, with minigames breaking up each round. Board spaces trigger events, item use and character encounters that can shift a player’s position or fortunes late in a game. The roster is drawn from the Mario cast, and minigames range from motion-based tests of timing and aim to button-driven contests, some pitting all four players against each other and others splitting them into teams or one-against-three matches. Beyond the main party mode, there are additional modes for playing minigames directly, and computer-controlled players can fill empty slots for solo play.
