Medievil – PS1 Game

An action-adventure game for the PlayStation in which you play Sir Daniel Fortesque, a long-dead knight accidentally raised from his grave when the sorcerer Zarok casts a spell over the land. Dan has to earn the respect he never actually deserved in life by fighting his way through graveyards, crypts, haunted woodland, a pumpkin patch and other corners of the kingdom. Combat mixes melee weapons, thrown items and projectile arms, and defeating enough enemies in a level fills a chalice that grants access to the Hall of Heroes, where fallen champions hand over new equipment and health upgrades. Levels combine fighting with simple puzzles, switches and platforming, viewed from a third-person camera. The presentation leans on dark humour, with Dan mumbling through his broken jaw.
