Mega Man Anniversary Collection brings the classic-series Mega Man games together on a single PlayStation 2 disc. The lineup covers the numbered 2D entries from the NES era onward, each emulated and selectable from a front-end menu with save support added. Two arcade Mega Man games centered on back-to-back boss fights are included as unlockable extras, along with bonus material such as artwork and remixed music. The games themselves play as they originally did: you choose a robot master stage from a select screen, work through platforming and enemy encounters, then claim the boss’s weapon to use against later targets before reaching Dr. Wily’s fortress. Mechanics like the slide and charged buster appear only in the later titles, so play feels noticeably different across the collection.
