Mega Man X4 – PS1 Game

Mega Man X4 is a side-scrolling action game for the PlayStation in which you choose between X and Zero at the start and play the whole campaign as that character. X fights at range with a chargeable buster and collects each defeated Maverick’s weapon, while Zero relies on a saber and learns melee techniques instead, which changes how you approach the same stages and bosses. Movement centers on dashing, wall jumping and air dashing, with armor upgrades, heart tanks and sub tanks hidden throughout the levels. The game leans on anime-style cutscenes and voiced dialogue to tell its story of a conflict between Reploid military forces and the Maverick Hunters. Stage order is largely up to you, so weapon and upgrade choices shape the difficulty of what comes next.
