Micro Machines – PS2 Game

Micro Machines on PlayStation 2 keeps the series’ overhead viewpoint and toy-scale racing. You control miniature vehicles on tracks laid out across full-sized environments, treating tables, floors, gardens and workbenches as circuits, with everyday objects acting as walls, ramps and hazards. Races are short and tightly packed, and the camera pulls back to keep all racers in view, which means drifting too far behind or tumbling off an edge costs you position. Vehicle handling is simple and arcade-flavoured, rewarding clean lines through narrow gaps rather than simulation-style technique. Local multiplayer is a central part of the package, with several players racing on the same screen. If you know the series from earlier consoles, this follows the same basic formula on Sony’s hardware.
