Microsoft Pinball Arcade on Game Boy Color is a pinball game presenting recreations of pinball tables for play on the handheld. You launch the ball with the plunger and use the flippers to keep it in play, aiming for the targets, ramps and bumpers laid out on each table to build up your score. Because the Game Boy Color screen is small, the view scrolls to follow the ball around the playfield. Each table has its own layout and scoring features, so play involves learning where the shots are and how to control the ball on rebounds. There is no story or progression beyond chasing higher scores, which makes it a pick-up-and-play title suited to short sessions on a handheld.
