MLB 2000 – PS1 Game

MLB 2000 is a baseball game for the original PlayStation, built around licensed Major League Baseball teams, players and ballparks. Play unfolds from a behind-the-pitcher perspective, with batting handled through swing timing and placement, pitching through selecting a pitch type and aiming it, and fielding through direct control of your defenders. You can play single exhibition games, take a team through a season, or work through home run and playoff-style contests, with commentary and crowd sound accompanying the action. Rosters and player ratings reflect real major league lineups of the era, and statistics are tracked as you play. As an early PlayStation-generation sports title, the visuals use polygonal players and stadiums with a straightforward interface, and the pacing is closer to a simulation than an arcade baseball game.
