Monopoly – PS1 Game

This PlayStation version of Monopoly turns the property-trading board game into an on-screen match with animated pieces and automated bookkeeping. You roll dice, move around the familiar circuit of streets, railroads and utilities, buy the spaces you land on, and charge rent to anyone who stops there. Completing a colour set lets you add houses and hotels to raise rents sharply. The game handles Chance and Community Chest cards, jail, taxes, mortgages and auctions, and lets you negotiate trades with other players through menus. Computer opponents with varying play styles fill empty seats, and several people can compete on one console by passing the controller between turns. Camera flourishes and animations mark events such as buying property or going to jail, and rule options let you tailor the length of a game.
