Namco Museum Volume 1 – PS1 Game

Namco Museum Volume 1 on PlayStation is the opening entry in a series of arcade compilations drawn from Namco’s coin-op catalogue. The disc includes titles such as Pac-Man, Galaga, Rally-X, Pole Position, Bosconian and Toy Pop. Rather than a plain menu, the collection is framed as a virtual museum you walk through in first person, entering rooms to launch each game and view accompanying gallery material such as artwork and cabinet displays. The games themselves are emulated in their arcade form, keeping single-screen or scrolling playfields, limited lives and escalating repeated rounds, so play is short-session and score-focused. Controls map to the PlayStation pad. It suits players interested in early Namco arcade design and in the presentation material the museum framing provides.
