NBA Action 94 is a licensed basketball game for the Sega Genesis, played five-on-five with NBA teams and players. The action is viewed from a scrolling side-on perspective, with the Genesis pad handling passing, shooting, dunks, steals and blocks. You can play a single exhibition match or work through a season and the playoffs, with statistics recorded along the way. Team and player ratings affect how squads perform on the floor, while options for quarter length and difficulty change how long and how demanding a game is. Two players can play against each other or share control of one team. Presentation is built around crowd audio, court sound effects and score and clock overlays, with brief replays and menus between periods.
