An updated version of the arcade basketball game, brought to the Sega 32X with the add-on’s extra horsepower behind it. Play is two-on-two, with exaggerated physics that let players leap far above the rim and finish with flaming, backboard-shaking dunks. Rules are stripped down: there are no fouls and no free throws, so possessions move quickly and shoving opponents to the floor is part of the game. Sink several shots in a row and you catch fire, gaining boosted speed and shooting until the streak ends. The Tournament Edition adds features on top of the original NBA Jam, including hidden characters, substitutions, and options that change the rules of a match. You pick from NBA rosters, and a running commentary track calls the action. Supports single-player games against the CPU or head-to-head play.
