A PlayStation 2 entry in EA Sports’ long-running NBA Live series. Games are five-on-five with licensed NBA teams, players and arenas, played from a broadcast-style camera with commentary and crowd audio. On offence you run plays, call for picks, drive to the rim and pull up for jumpers; on defence you switch players, contest shots and try to force turnovers. Modes include single exhibition games, a full season with playoffs, and franchise play that involves managing a roster over multiple years through trades and the draft. Practice and shooting drills are available for learning the controls. Player ratings and statistics are tracked as seasons progress. Two players can compete or team up on the same console using a second controller.
