NBA Live 98 on the Sega Saturn is a 32-bit version of EA Sports’ basketball series, with polygonal players on a 3D court and cameras that follow play up and down the floor. You control licensed NBA teams in five-on-five games, calling plays, shooting from the perimeter, driving for layups and dunks, and switching defenders. Single exhibition games sit alongside a season with statistics tracking that carries into the playoffs, plus a three-point shooting contest. Rosters can be edited and traded, and rules such as quarter length, fouls, and difficulty are adjustable. Presentation follows a television broadcast style with commentary, crowd audio, and replays. A second controller lets two players compete against each other or share control of the same team.
