NBA Showtime NBA on NBC – PS1 Game

NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC is an arcade basketball game for the PlayStation, playing two-on-two with licensed NBA teams and players. Matches are short and high-scoring, favouring turbo drives, huge dunks and hard blocks over realistic tactics. Making consecutive baskets sets your player alight, boosting shooting and speed until the other team scores. The control scheme keeps to shoot, pass and turbo, which makes it straightforward for two players to jump in together. Presentation mirrors a television broadcast, with commentary and score graphics between plays. You can run single exhibition games or take a team through a run of opponents, and hidden characters and gameplay tweaks can be unlocked. This is the console version of Midway’s coin-op style basketball, trimmed for home play.
