Neo Contra – PS2 Game

Neo Contra is a run-and-gun action game for PlayStation 2, viewed from an overhead angle rather than the side-on perspective of the older Contra games. You control a soldier who runs, rolls and shoots in any direction across arenas, rooftops, vehicles and open ground while enemies and bosses attack from all sides. Before each stage you pick a weapon set of three guns, each mapped to a different firing style such as spread shots, homing fire or heavy ordnance, and switching between them at the right moment is central to survival. Levels are short and dense, ending in large mechanical or biological bosses with multiple attack patterns. Hits kill quickly, so progress depends on learning enemy placement and keeping moving. Two players can fight through the campaign together in co-op.
