NFL Blitz 2001 is a Nintendo 64 sports game built around fast 7-on-7 arcade-style football. This entry updates the series for the 2001 season with all NFL teams, expanded play books, updated rosters, and new stadiums.
- Cleaned, tested, and guaranteed to play. Authentic cartridge.
- Extreme-style football removes the traditional sim pacing in favor of quick plays, hard hits, and over-the-top action.
- Modes include Season, Tournament, Custom Play, Quarterback Training Mode, and an all-new Mini-Game Mode for control practice.
- Classic On-Fire Mode returns, adding the series’ signature momentum-based boost to big plays.
- New player artificial intelligence is designed to be easy to start with while adding challenge as matches get tougher.
- Uses 123 pages of Nintendo 64 Controller Pak memory to save game data.
The 2001 version adds outrageous celebrations, new animations, and roster updates tied to that NFL season. It sits in the arcade-football side of the Nintendo 64 library rather than the simulation-focused football lineup.
