NFL Xtreme – PS1 Game

NFL Xtreme is an arcade-style football game for the original PlayStation, using NFL teams and players in a version of the sport stripped of penalties and much of the rulebook. Games are played with reduced squads and a focus on hard hits, spin moves and showboating rather than deep playcalling, so drives move quickly and scoring is high. Simple controls handle passing, running and tackling, and defenders can lay out big collisions with little consequence. Modes include exhibition play and season-style competition against the league’s teams, with two-player games on one console. The presentation leans on loud commentary and quick play selection to keep matches moving. It is aimed at players who want NFL rosters in a pick-up-and-play format.
